Terms of Service

Last updated: August 3, 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Matt Weedmark (“Ice Slice”, “we”, “us”) governing your use of the Ice Slice software and services available at iceslice.ca (“the Service”). By purchasing a license, creating an account, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

Ice Slice is a web-based scheduling and management platform designed for amateur hockey associations. It provides tools to manage ice contracts, generate team schedules, build tournament brackets, track standings, and distribute schedules to team contacts.

3. License

License Key

Access to Ice Slice requires a valid license key purchased through iceslice.ca. Each license key:

  • Is valid for one hockey association for one season (12 months from the date of first redemption)
  • Is non-transferable and may not be resold, shared between unrelated organizations, or used to provide services to third parties
  • Entitles the association to the number of teams specified by the purchased tier

Tournament Builder Add-On

Tournament Builder credits are sold separately or bundled with a license key. Each credit allows the association to run one tournament using the Tournament Builder feature. Credits do not expire independently of the license and are non-refundable once used.

Evaluation Access

Free evaluation accounts are available at iceslice.ca/evaluate. Evaluation accounts include pre-populated sample data, expire after 14 days, and may not be used for live association operations. We reserve the right to terminate evaluation accounts at any time.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Ice Slice only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not:

  • Use the Service to manage operations for multiple unrelated organizations under a single license
  • Resell, sublicense, or otherwise provide paid access to the Service to third parties
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service
  • Use automated tools to scrape, harvest, or excessively load the Service
  • Introduce malicious code or attempt to compromise the security of the Service
  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable Canadian law

5. Payment and Refunds

All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD). Payment is processed securely by Stripe. By completing a purchase, you authorize the charge to your payment method.

No refunds. License keys are digital goods delivered immediately upon payment. Because the license key is sent to you as soon as your payment is confirmed, all sales are final. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at info@iceslice.ca and we will review the situation.

Licenses are not automatically renewed. You must purchase a new license key each season.

6. Your Data

You retain ownership of all data you enter into Ice Slice — team names, schedules, contacts, and other association information. You grant us a limited license to store and process this data solely to provide the Service. We do not claim any rights over your data and will not use it for any purpose beyond operating Ice Slice.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the appropriate authority to enter personal information (such as team contact details) into the Service, and for complying with applicable privacy laws in your use of the Service.

7. Service Availability

We aim to keep Ice Slice available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service is provided on an “as is” basis. We may perform maintenance, apply updates, or experience outages outside our control. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of planned downtime.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Ice Slice and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to scheduling errors, data loss, or missed communications.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for your current license key.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
